CONDITIONS FOR DIVING:
Divers Certification
All divers must produce proof of
certification by a recognized Diving Agency upon arrival.
Liabilities Release Declaration
All guests will be required to sign a
Liability Release (Waiver) and Express Assumption of Risk form.
Orientation Dive and First Day
Every diver regardless of level of
qualification will be required to do an orientation dive on the first day.
Boat Dives and Schedules
The 3 boat dives are scheduled for 2 in the
morning and 1 in the afternoon. The time and location for the first morning dive will be
posted in our "DIVE SCHEDULE BOARD" on the evening before, and the balance two
dives immediately after you return from each dive. All divers board the boat fully
kited-up except for mask snorkel and fins that are worn on the way to the dive site. Most
boat entries will be the seated back roll and the exit will be boat pick-ups at your point
of ascent. Each diver will be assigned to buddy teams during the dive briefing.
Unlimited Beach Dives
You may choose to either beach dive or boat
dive the whole day. Beach dive are only allowed after 07:00 hrs and last beach dive should
be planned to exit the water no later than 22:00 hrs (see Night Diving). ALL DIVERS ARE
REQUIRED TO DIVE WITH A BUDDY ON BEACH DIVES and they have to sign in and out with the
dive master-in-charge. NO DIVEMASTERS WILL ACCOMPANY BEACH DIVES unless prior arrangements
are made.
Depth Limitation and Surface Intervals
All dives must not exceed 40 m especially on
repetitive dives where the residual nitrogen time has to be accounted for. A MANDATORY
MINIMUM surface interval of 60 mins is required between each consecutive dive regardless
of whether you are diving with a computer, wheel or table for your own safety.
Night and Cavern Diving
PROOF OF THE RELEVANT CERTIFICATION MUST BE
SHOWN for Night and Cavern Diving before divers would be allowed to participate.
Overnight Surface Interval
All divers are required to practice a 12
hours surface interval between each day of diving for your own safety and comfort.
Flying and Diving
SIPADAN DIVE CENTRE recognizes that each
person, agencies, computers and even tables differ on the flying after diving times. In
the case of multi-dives or multi-days, a 24 hrs surface time is recommended before flying.
We therefore do not allow any diving on the last day at the Centre as you are scheduled to
fly later that day.
Final Discretion
SIPADAN DIVE CENTRE reserves the final
discretion on who may or may not participate in any of the diving offered based on a
divers shown abilities, experience, etc. If a diver during his stay at the Centre
for any reason becomes physically incapacitated by injuries, illness, intoxication,
"hangovers", etc.
